PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a converting and processing method to reduce deterioration of an image when the second image data is converted into the first image data formed differently. SOLUTION: A writing control part 21 controls field memories 13, 14 and writes input images alternately to the memories 13, 14 field by field. A reading control part 22 controls to read from the memory 13 or 14 which is not under writing. Screen data is processed to be mapped on the memory block by block. Each number of horizontal pixels in the blocks in the first and the second forms is set using a common divisor of the numbers of horizontal pixels in the first and the second forms. Each number of vertical pixels in the blocks in the first and the second forms is set using a common divisor of the numbers of vertical pixels in the first and the second forms.
