PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the electric power consumption by the operation of unused circuits of an optical disk device which allows the interchangeable reproduction of the optical disk having pregrooves and the optical disk having no pregrooves. SOLUTION: When a wobble signal is not received and an ATIP signal is not formed in a wobble signal demodulating means 6, a circuit operation control means 9 detects the same and makes judgment that the optical disk under reproduction is the reproduction-only optical disk having no pregrooves. The means changes over the output of an output changeover means 8 to a control signal from a rotation control signal forming means 5 and stops the operation of the wobble signal demodulating means 6 and the rotation control signal forming means 5.
