PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a light source for a pickup as one for adjusting an optical axis in the case of installing a lens and to miniaturize the positioning mechanism while providing a moving mechanism capable of performing a fine adjustment of the horizontal position for a laser beam emitting part. SOLUTION: In the case of positioning a pickup lens 2 of the pickup by adjusting in the X- and Y-axis directions relative to the optical axis which is an adjusting reference, the optical axis of the laser beam emitted by the emitting part 6 of the pickup is made a reference for adjusting the inclination of the pickup lens, while the X- and Y-axis stages 4, 5 are provided on which the laser beam emitting part 6 is transferred in the X- and Y-axis directions. In this case, it is suitable that two parallel guide axes 7 are provided which support the laser beam emitting part 6 in the Y-axis direction, that, to one of the guide axes 7, a transfer mechanism is attached which is slidable on the guide axis 7 in the axial direction, and that the Y-axis stage 5 is structured which adjustably transfers the laser beam emitting part 6 in the Y-axis direction.
