PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-size and low-cost coin sensor. SOLUTION: A transmission part 31 where a coil wound on a bobbin is disposed on a magnetic core and the coil generates magnetic flux by a current having a prescribed frequency, and a reception part 32 where a coil wound on a bobbin is disposed on a magnetic core, for detecting the magnetic flux generated by the transmission part 31 are arranged oppositely at a prescribed distance, and a magnetic flux change generated when a coin 34 passes between the transmission part 31 and the reception part 32 is detected as an induced voltage, to thereby discriminate the kind of the coin 34. The transmission part 31 and the reception part 32 are formed as a pair, and the magnetic core forming the reception part 32 has plural pole structures on the center part and the peripheral part, and is formed by arranging the coil wound on the bobbin against the pole structures.
