PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent not only follow currents, improve surge-proofing, and also reduce scattered arc discharging by deciding the number of gas arresters as desired. SOLUTION: This is a surge absorber device 1 for an electric circuit, to which DC current is supplied. It has plural gas arresters 4 to 7 which are series connected between the line 2 and 3 of the circuit, and N-1 pieces of capacitors 8 to 10 for N pieces of the arresters are connected, between each joint of the arresters and the line 1. The arc voltage, equal to the sum voltage of all the arresters is made equal to or larger than the power supply voltage.
