PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible for an operator to smoothly operate a manual scanning-type image input device, perform continuous image scanning operation, and be easily provided only with required images. SOLUTION: The image input device consists of two independent rollers and a line image sensor. Immediately after the image of a document is acquired by scanning, the document image data and low-resolution real-time image data obtained from coordinate data and a first image synthesizing process 16 are associated with each other without a coordinate data correcting process 20, in which the coordinate data obtained by detecting the number of rotations of the rollers is corrected, and a second image synthesizing process 21 of high accuracy and resolution. The associated data is stored in a storage device 33 as an index image so that the next image input operation can be performed. |
