PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information input/output device capable of inputting/ outputting with respect to the packet of a variable length. SOLUTION: This information input/output device is provided with a packet input side FIFO 1 for storing a packet inputted from a system side, area 2 for storing packet delimiter information for storing the breakpoint information of the packet, packet output side FIFO 3 and/or 5 for storing an adjusting packet, microcomputer 7 for generating the adjusting packet by reading out the packet stored in the packet input side FIFO 1 and adjusting the size of the packet and for writing the adjusting packet into the packet output side FIFO 3 and/or 5, and packet delimiter information read circuit 8 and/or 9 for reading the adjusting packet out of the packet output side FIFO 3 and/or 5 on the basis of the breakpoint information of the adjusting packet and outputting the adjusting packet to the 1394 interface side.
