The circuit breaker has forward and rear fixed contacts (2,3) which are bridged by a spring loaded (5) mobile contact (4) when a contact carrier grid (13) is operated due to an overcurrent. Magnetic arc control units (6) divert arcs to suppressors (8) and two insulating covers (15) for the arc control units are made integral with the contact carrier support (14). This gives complete phase separation between the arc control units on current extinction
