The invention relates to a method for steering a vehicle and to a steering system, which allows provision of a variable torque boost in response to the driver's steering request and an alteration of the position of the steered wheels initiated by the dynamic control system without these two actions impairing each other. The invention further allows the integration into the inventive method or the inventive steering system of further supplementary functions such as for example tracking of the vehicle in a simple manner and optionally with our without compensation for the steering feeling at the steering wheel.
