802,393. Corrugating wire. SIBTHORP, J., and WARNER, R. O. March 4, 1955, No. 6510/55. Class 83 (4). Wire is bent into sinuous form by bending it alternately about projections of two circumferential series of projections, disposed with those of one series in staggered relation to those of the other series, on a rotatably mounted former. Wire, pulled through straightening rollers 4 and non-return rollers 5, is bent in ziz-zag form around pins 3 on an intermittentlyrotated drum 2 by pivoted arms 6, 7, alternately oscillated by cams 21 to make a bend while the drum 2 is stationary. The drum 2 is rotated by a continuously rotated worm 12 axially reciprocated by a cam 15 to give an intermittent drive. The bent wire leaves the drum 2 tangentially at 27 and may be cut off in curved lengths by a periodically-operated cutter.
