The floor or wall panel (20) is provided with a tongue (1) and a groove (2), which have locking devices formed as ribs (11,12) and grooves (9,10). The locking devices of the upper and lower side of the tongue and groove are displaced in an introduction direction in which two equally formed panels are joined together. This arrangement provides a firm connection between two adjacent panels.
