The fastening element for the connecting of insulating materials and sealing strips to the cover elements of flat roofs has a plastic holder (2) with a transition sleeve (4) fitted on its shank's point (12). A screw (3) extends from the sleeve end furthest from the shank point of the holder. The sleeve is conically formed at least in a part of its section. The end (15) of the transition sleeve furthest from the load distribution plate (5) corresponds approximately to the flank diameter of the screw thread (16).
