PURPOSE: A key signal receipt alarm apparatus for air conditioner is provided to allow a user to select a melody sound for alarming the receipt of the key signal. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a melody sound generating unit(235) for generating a variety of melody sounds; a selection unit for selecting a melody sound from among the melody sounds; a control unit(220) for memorizing the melody sound selected by the selection unit, and controls the melody sound generating unit so as to generate the selected melody sound upon receipt of a key signal; a remote control signal receiving unit(215) for receiving the key signal transmitted from a remote controller(210) and transmitting the received key signal to the control unit; an output unit(230) for converting the signal output from the melody sound generating unit into the sound audible to the user; and a power unit(225) for supplying power to the control unit.
