A cone type speaker of the prior art has raised problems that the place where the speaker is set up depends upon its size and space state and that its size is enlarged if it is used to make a large sound in a wide space. The sound source is limited to the set place to make a point source thereby to raise a problem that the sound volume and quality are different at different listening places. Another problem is that the sound is cracked or distorted in some space conditions. These problems are solved by a speaker system having a basic unit in which a plurality of flat speaker units are arranged and fixed linearly in the longitudinal direction of a slit formed in the side portion of a cabinet. The sound can be picked up to under the common conditions anywhere along the cabinet. Moreover, the sound is not noisy even at a near position but can be as clear even at a distant place as at the near position.
|
