A simulator, though compact in construction, is capable of simulating a railroad vehicle subjected to right and left steady acceleration, for a prolonged period. A riding comfortability simulator wherein when a controller actuates individual actuators (40), a simulated passenger chamber (10) is rolled, whereupon the simulated passenger chamber (10) begins gradually tilting, producing a component of the gravitational acceleration (g) along the inclined surface according to the angle of inclination, (υ), that is, a first recurrent acceleration (G1). That is, a passenger in the simulated passenger chamber (10) feels a bodily sensation of the first recurrent acceleration (G1) due to the rolling. Further, the controller causes the simulated passenger chamber (10) to move either to the right or to the left at the acceleration (G) through a right and left moving device, whereby the passenger in the simulated passenger chamber (10) feels a bodily sensation of a second recurrent acceleration (G2). As a result, the passenger in the simulated passenger chamber (10) feels a bodily sensation of the sum of the first and second recurrent accelerations (G1, G2) as the right and left steady acceleration for the railroad.
|
