FIBER-TREATING AGENT, REINFORCING FIBER TREATED THEREWITH, AND RUBBER PRODUCT REINFORCED WITH THE FIBER

A reinforcing fiber which can have sufficient bonding strength with a single-layer coating film; a fiber-treating agent which enhances the adhesion of fibers to a matrix; and a rubber product containing the reinforcing fiber. The fiber-treating agent contains a rubber-modified epoxy resin. The rubber-modified epoxy resin is one obtained by epoxidizing a polymer having rubber elasticity and combines the high elasticity characteristic of rubbers with high bonding strength due to epoxidization. Examples of the polymer having rubber elasticity include a butadiene/styrene copolymer latex and an acrylonitrile/butadiene copolymer latex.
