PURPOSE: A method for controlling air flow direction for air conditioner is provided to achieve a uniform temperature control all over the indoor area by calculating the indoor temperature in an accurate manner through the use of two temperature sensors. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a first step(S21) of inputting a remote controller control signal; a second step(S22) of judging whether the input signal is for operating an air conditioner; a third step(S24) of reading the indoor temperature sensed by two indoor temperature sensors, if the input signal is for operating an air conditioner; a fourth step(S25) of calculating an average indoor temperature; a fifth step(S26) of judging whether the average indoor temperature is higher than the temperature set by the user; a sixth step(S28) of turning off an outdoor unit, if the average indoor temperature is lower than the temperature set by the user; a seventh step(S27) of operating the outdoor unit, if the average indoor temperature is higher; an eighth step(S29) of subtracting the right indoor temperature from the left indoor temperature; a ninth step(S30 to S35) of controlling the air discharged from the indoor unit to repeatedly flow in a horizontal direction, if the user has elected an automatic air flow mode; a tenth step(S36 to S40) of setting the location of the air flow direction adjusting unit to left X0 degree, left Y0 degree, right X0 degree and right Y0 degree, and setting the location of the air flow direction adjusting unit to the center; and an eleventh step(S41) of controlling operation of the indoor fan so as to promote heat exchange operation between the indoor air and refrigerant.
