<p>The present invention relates to a grape harvesting collection system (10) for use with harvesters of the type that straddle a row of vines (22) although it may equally well be used on harvesting other fruits. The collection system (10) includes two generally parallel mounting rails (12) defining a working area there between and to which are attached a plurality of arms (26) at one end thereof. The arms (26) are arranged in a staggered arrangement and biased so as to extend inwardly and rearwardly into said working area. At the other end of each arm (26) is rotatably mounted a generally circular disc or plate (28) wherein the plates (28) at rest overlap each other to define a closed working area. When the collection system (10) moves past a trunk or tree, the outer edge of the discs (28) may engage the trunk and be pivoted outwardly to allow for the vine (22) or trunk to pass through. The discs (28) are also preferentially adapted to rotate around their central axis (34) so to minimise any rubbing between the disc (28) and the trunk or vine (22).</p> |
