The device has a bolt axially movable between switch element blocking and release positions by a lifting magnet working against the spring loading. The magnet can be coupled to a source of sufficient energy to hold the bolt against the spring loading and to an energy storage device for delivering an energy pulse that with the holding energy applies the energy required to move the bolt into the other position against the spring loading. The device (1) has a bolt (10) axially movable in a housing (2) between switch element blocking and release positions by a lifting magnet (11) working against the spring loading. The magnet can be coupled to a source of sufficient energy to hold the bolt against the spring loading and to an energy storage device for delivering an energy pulse that together with the holding energy applies the displacement energy required to move the bolt into the other position against the spring loading.
