A locking device for a vehicle roof that can be adjusted between a closed position and an open position has two locking hooks (9) which can be adjusted between a locking position and an unlocking position. In their locking position, each of the locking hooks grips an associated locking pin (12) from behind. An adjustment arrangement for adjusting the locking hooks (9) between the locking position and the unlocking position is also provided. According to an embodiment with a simple construction, the two locking hooks (9) are fixed to a common support panel (8), mirror-symmetrically in relation to a longitudinally central plane (5) of the vehicle. The adjusting arrangement is configured in the form of a common adjusting mechanism (11) for jointly adjusting the two locking hooks (9).
