PURPOSE: To provide a storage device capable of easily rewriting identification data, and normally completing the writing of the data in a short time. CONSTITUTION: An ID comparator 203 decides whether or not ID data transmitted from a host computer are made coincident with identification data stored in a memory cell 201, and at the time of deciding that those data are made coincident with each other, the ID comparator 203 transmits an access permission signal EN to an operation code decoder 204. The operation code decoder 204 analyzes a reading/writing command, and changes a data transferring direction to the memory cell 201 according to the instruction, and requests an I/O controller 205 to change the high impedance setting of a signal line connected to a data terminal DT. Then, access to the address of a memory array 201 designated by the counter value of an address counter 202 is executed.
