<p>This invention relates to a method for imparting soil-resistant, stain-resistant and optional water-repellent properties to fibrous substrates (such as carpet fibers) by applying an acidic, aqueous treating composition containing at least one silsesquioxane, at least one stainblocker to the substrate.
