PURPOSE: A method for controlling rotation of a fan motor is provided to sequentially supply a driving signal to a three phase coil by using a time elapsed while a rotor rotates. CONSTITUTION: A control part provides a driving signal suitable for a B-phase coil and a C-phase coil to excite the C-phase coil and the B-phase coil, and controls a rotor to be moved in a direction of the C-phase coil(200). The control signal outputs a driving signal to the C-phase coil based on the first signal output from an RPM sensor, and the C-phase coil is excited by the applied driving signal to pull the rotor(203,206). The signal output from the RPM sensor is inputted to the control part, and the control part cuts off the driving signal applied to the C-phase coil, and outputs a driving signal to the A-phase coil(209,212). When an RPM sensing signal is not inputted from the RPM sensor until it is a preset rotation time, the control part outputs a rotation signal to drive the A-phase coil(215). The RPM sensor detects a slot generated in a stator, counts the detected slot, and outputs the rotation signal. The RPM sensing signal is inputted to the control part, and the control part cuts off the driving signal output to the A-phase coil and outputs a driving signal to the B-phase coil(221).
