PURPOSE: A circuit for improving distortion of picture is provided, which uses a peak coil to prevent picture distortion occurring when a volume is varied to the maximum or minimum value in case of correction of VCR. CONSTITUTION: A correction apparatus is constructed of a variable resistor(VR1) connected in parallel with vertical deflection coils(V1,V2) and 6-turn coma-free correction coils serially connected to the vertical deflection coils. The apparatus further has a coil(PLA) connected between the connection node of the vertical deflection coils and the variable resistor, and a resistor(RA) for adjusting the quantity of current flowing the coil. Accordingly, magnetic field required for vertical control of a beam is satisfied when the variable resistor has the maximum or minimum resistance value, solving distortion of picture.
