摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pen-shaped curve-length measuring device which is low- cost by a method where the length of the curve line segment of a map or the like is measured, the rolling disk of a slit-type pulse generator which is rolled on a measuring face precisely follows the tracking motion of a body, a signal is transferred precisely and components which are available on the market are used. SOLUTION: A caster mechanism is adopted, in order to track a curve to be measured. A microminiature transmission-type photointerrupter, which is available on the market is installed inside a caster enclosure. A caster shaft is made hollow. The conductor of an electrical signal or the like is passed, so as to be coupled to the conductor of a slip ring at an end part. The electrical signal or the like to the caster enclosure, which is turned is transferred via the slip ring. The sufficient visibility for tracking of the curve to be measured is ensured. The caster mechanism relaxes a vertically-holding property by a sufficient caster force, its operability is improved, and its tracking accuracy is ensured. The shape of the pen-shaped curve-length measuring device is formed into a pen shape for convenient carrying, its cost is reduced, the efficiency of an optical system is increased, and the life time of a battery is prolonged.
