The system has several installation devices acting as sensors (1) or actuators (2) connected to a communications system (3,4) and each with an Ethernet interface. The communications system is a local network and/or the Internet. The installation devices are connected to a switching node (5) to which is also connected at least one station (8) for remote control or parameterisation of the installation devices. Independent claims are also included for the following: an installation device for use in a building installation system.
