PURPOSE: A charging apparatus in a mobile station is provided to charge the battery with external power supplied to an AC-DC adapter, without using a charger, by installing a charging unit inside of a mobile station. CONSTITUTION: A charging apparatus in a mobile station is composed of a rectifier(10), a resistor(R), a battery(20), a comparator(30), an A/D converter(40), a CPU(50), an alarm generation part(60), and a timer(70). The rectifier(10) removes the ripples of DC power supplied through a DC-DC adapter. The resistor(R) detects the voltage supplied through the rectifier(10). The battery(20) charges or discharges the ripple-removed DC voltage. The comparator(30) compares the DC voltage(V1) supplied through the rectifier(10) with the discharging voltage of the battery(20) and outputs a difference voltage. The A/D converter(40) converts the analog signal outputted from the comparator(30) into a digital signal. The CPU(50) analyzes the digital signal outputted from the A/D converter(40). As a result, if the digital signal indicates a value of "0", the CPU(50) outputs an alarm generation control signal to generate an alarm to indicate that charging has been completed. Also the CPU(50) generates a timer driving signal for charging. The alarm generation part(60) generates an alarm according to the alarm generation control signal. Based on the timer driving signal, the timer(70) executes counting during a preset counter value and transfers the counted value to the CPU(50).
