PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal unit which displays a function for giving friction without deteriorating sealing performance and wear resistance of a seal lip in a seal unit and can thus effectively suppress various vibrations including high frequency vibrations, and further can maintain at least the seal function long. SOLUTION: A seal unit having an outer periphery fixed to a cylinder 1 and an inner periphery side composed of elastic rubber member 10 comprises a seal lip 11 which comes in elastic contact with an outer peripheral surface of a piston rod 6, and a friction lip 13 which is formed at an outer side of the cylinder 1 than the seal lip 11, has a larger diameter than that of the seal lip 11, and generates friction by sliding while coming in elastic contact with the outer peripheral surface of the piston rod 6, wherein an auxiliary lip 12 having a diameter larger than that of the friction lip 13 is arranged between the seal lip 11 and the friction lip 13. |
