摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carriage which aligns the foci of a lens in plural positions and maintains an imagery position on an optical sensor surface and an image reader having the same. SOLUTION: Mirrors 64 and 66 are arranged in such a manner that the angles formed by their reflection surfaces are perpendicular and therefore parallel optical path are generated between an original 5 and a condenser lens 67. A mirror moving block 20 is driven, by which the mirrors 64 and 65 are moved integrally with respect to the condenser lens 67 in the state that the angles formed by the reflection surfaces facing each other are held perpendicular. The imagery position may therefore be maintained at the sensor surface of the line sensor 62 without changing the reading position in a scanning direction and without changing magnification. Then, the foci of the condenser lens 67 may be aligned in the plural positions and therefore even if the position of the original 5 placed on an original platen 3 changes, the foci of the condenser lens 67 may be aligned to the original 5. Further, the physical size of the carriage 6 may be reduced and the space for mounting may be easily assured.
