PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To design a liquid crystal display device occupying a smaller space for household electrical appliances such as a rice cooker. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device for household electrical appliances which has a display substrate 23, a liquid crystal 25 mounted on the substance and a frame member 26 to couple the display substrate 23 and the liquid crystal 25 and which is used by being attached to the outer surface of the appliance, the display substrate 23 consists of a charge substrate part 23a and a cut substrate part 23b opposing a part of the lower face of the liquid crystal 25 or the frame member 26. The cut substrate part 23b exists before soldering but the cut substrate 23b is removed by cutting to form a cutoff part 333 to save the space.
