PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method using a silver halide photographic sensitive material having satisfactory sensitivity and high contrast even in the case of very short-time exposure and development and excellent also in physical properties (e.g. residual color and dryability). SOLUTION: In the image forming method, the silver halide photographic sensitive material having at least one hydrophilic colloidal layer including at least one silver halide emulsion layer on at least one face of the base, having 1.0-2.0 g/m2 total coating weight of gelatin on the emulsion layer side, containing at least one compound of formula (D) in the at least one hydrophilic colloidal layer and having a de-dyeability factor of 0.001-0.1 is processed in 10-70 sec total processing time and 5-19 sec development time.
