PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the conventional problem of leading users each time map data are to be updated, etc., because map data of a recording medium with maps recorded cannot be updated in the conventional car navigation apparatuses. SOLUTION: Map data on the rewritable recording medium 2 are written and used. The map information-updating system is provided for use in the writing.
