发明名称 A process for the production of thioether glycols
摘要 <p>Thioether glycols containing a plurality of thioether groups in the molecule are prepared either by reacting an alkylene oxide with hydrogen sulphide in the presence of a sulphur analogue of carbon dioxide or a substitution product of carbon dioxide, or by reacting an alkylene oxide with excess hydrogen sulphide above 140 DEG C. Alkylene oxides mentioned are ethylene oxide, propylene oxide, glycide alcohol, epichlorhydrin, phenoxy-propene oxide, cyclohexene oxide and styryl oxide. Sulphur analogues mentioned are carbon disulphide, carbon oxysulphide, mono-, di- and tri-thiocarbonic acids and their salts and esters, thiourea, thiocarbamic acid and its salts and esters and thiocyanic acid and its salts and esters. The reaction is advantageously carried out in the presence of a thioether glycol. The presence of large-surface bodies such as active carbon or silica gel is also advantageous. For carrying out the first embodiment it is advantageous to use a mixture of about 2 mols. of alkylene oxide with about 1 mol. of H2S and about 0.1 to 1 mol. of the sulphur analogue, and elevated temperatures up to about 100 DEG C. The reaction is preferably effected in a packed column. The sulphur analogue may be added dropwise during the reaction, or may be added to the alkylene oxide or H2S beforehand. In examples: (1) to (4) products containing thiodiglycol, triethylene dithioglycol, tetraethylene trithioglycol and higher homologues are prepared by reacting ethylene oxide with H2S in the presence of thiodiglycol and (1) and (2) CS2, (3) COS, and (4) excess H2S at 150 DEG C.; (5) propylene oxide is reacted with H2S in the presence of dioxydipropyl sulphide and CS2; (6) propylene oxide is reacted with excess H2S at 160 DEG C. in the presence of dioxydipropyl sulphide.</p>
