PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of preventing the sudden drop of the voltage of a battery. SOLUTION: In this camera equipped with a stroboscopic device where power from the battery 30 is increased and rectified via a step-up transformer 61 so as to charge a main capacitor 66 and flash light is emitted by discharging the power with which the main capacitor 66 is charged at the time of photographing; a clock signal FCT is disabled by turning on an N channel MOSFET 73 so that an N channel MOSFET 62 connected to the primary winding of the transformer 61 in series may be kept in an off-state while a secondary current Is flows to the transformer 61.
