PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for spraying a refractory, which can control the thickness of spraying of the refractory at high sped, and also can perform the manipulation of work execution of a refractory at high speed. SOLUTION: A device for spraying a refractory, which sprays a refractory to the inwall of a container (1) for molten metal, is equipped with a material supply pipe (11) which supplies a refractory hung vertically down and supported by a supporting stage (6) capable of shifting on a container for molten metal, a spray nozzle (12) which sprays a refractory attached to the lower part of the material supply pipe, a laser range finder (15) which measures the distance between the inwall face of the work execution place of the container for molten metal and the axis (11a) of the material supply pipe attached to the material supply pipe capably of integrated shifting with the spray nozzle, a rotation means (14) which rotates the material supply pipe around the axis, and a control means (50) which gets a shifting distance required for the axis of the material supply pipe to accord with the center axis of the container for molten metal based on the measurement results by the laser range finder, and can shift the material supply pipe according to the obtained shifting distance.
