PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a metal-coated powder, by which the metal-coated powder having a metal film good in adhesion of the powder of metal even at a high temperature, high electric conductivity, high heat resistance, high stability in electric conduction and good surface properties can be obtained, and further, by which a large amount of the metal-coated powder can be stably produced with a good reproducibility. SOLUTION: The method for producing the metal-coated powder by electroless plating the surface of a powder comprises a preliminary plating process for preliminarily electroless plating the surface of the powder with 1 to 30 wt.% plating liquid based on the electroless plating liquid and the main plating process for electroless plating the previously plated powder while adding 99 to 70 wt.% remaining electroless plating liquid.
