PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vinyl ether compound widely usable as a monomer constituting a resist using far-infrared rays as a light source and a method for producing the above compound. SOLUTION: The alicyclic vinyl ether compounds are 3, 4-bis (2- vinyloxyethyloxy) tricyclo[5,2,1,02,6] decane represented by formula [1] and 3(4)-hydroxy-4(3)-(2-vinyloxy)ethyloxytricyclo-[5,2,1,02,6] decane represented by formula [2]. The method for producing the above compounds represented by formulas [1] and [2] is characterized by reacting 3,4-dihydroxytricyclo-[5,2,1,02,6] decane represented by formula [3] with 2-halogenoethyl-vinyl ether represented by formula [4] (wherein X is a halogen atom) in the presence of a base.
