A second kneader (5) located below first kneader (1) can be moved as a complete unit between upper (OE) and lower (UE) positions above a further processing unit (19). When (5) is in the lower position, the material outlet flap (4) of (1) can be opened. In the upper position of (5), the outlet flap of the latter can open. Mixing in the second kneader occurs simultaneously with the movement between (UE) and (OE).
