PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transporting technique which is capable of efficiently transporting photosensitive materials and improving transportation ability. SOLUTION: The presence information indicating the presence/non of the photosensitive materials in the respective transporting units of the constitution obtained by dividing transporting routes to the plural transporting units along the transporting direction is kept held by each of the respective transporting units. The presence information of the respective transporting unit is successively scanned from a downstream side to an upstream side and if the presence information of the transporting units on the downstream side is the 'non', judgment is made that the ejection of the transporting units on the adjacent upstream side is possible and the processing to put the presence information of the transporting units of the adjacent upstream side into the 'NON' and the presence information of the transporting units on the downstream side into the 'PRESENCE' is successively performed with respect to the respective transporting units and thereafter the drive means of the transporting units judged to be ejectable are simultaneously controlled, by which the photosensitive materials of the respective transporting units are so controlled as to be simultaneously ejected to the downstream side.
