[Class 64 (ii).] A heat-insulating block for building purposes comprises a closed flat box 2, Fig. 2, of cardboard or other fibrous material, e.g. wood pulp or cellulose which may be fireproofed. The box 2 is provided with ribs 3, 6 which are glued to a flat plate 1, preferably fireproofed, or where fireproofing is unnecessary, of threeply wood. This arrangement provides two layers of air insulation. The block may be mounted against a wall 5, Fig. 3, providing three air layers, or two layers of flat boxes, which may be partly closed, may be mounted between two plates 1, Fig. 4. |
