PURPOSE: To provide a sound/picture recording/reproducing system for automatically generating a good program management information. CONSTITUTION: The sound/picture recording/reproducing system comprises an input switching means which switches among a first input signal which, comprising a first sound/picture signal, is inputted from a first input; a second input signal which, comprising a second sound/picture signal, is inputted from a second input; and a third input signal which, comprising a third sound/picture signal, is inputted from the second input, and outputs any one of the first, second, and the third input signals. It also comprises a recording means which records the second input signal and the third input signal outputted from the input switching means on an information recording medium as the same record unit when the input switching means switches from the second input signal to the third input signal.
