PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting metal fitting for two linear pieces of wood, having a simple structure and high connecting strength and being easy to work, assemble and disassemble. SOLUTION: The connecting metal fitting is interposed between two abutting linear pieces of wood 10 and 20 to fix them together in a manner that precludes relative displacement therebetween. The connecting fitting comprises hollow or solid round bars 30 inserted across both pieces of wood 10 and 20 into holes 11 and 21 linearly bored in the pieces of wood 10 and 20 from the abutting surfaces A of the pieces of wood, at right angles to the abutting surfaces A, with each bar 30 having a plurality of through-holes 32 longitudinally bored therein in predetermined spaced apart relation; and a plurality of pins 40 inserted into the plurality of through-holes 32 via a plurality of holes 12 and 22 bored in at least the side faces 15a and 25a of the pieces of wood 10 and 20 in opposite relation to the plurality of through-holes 32.
