PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap removing device capable of positively removing a cap incompletely set at a mouthpiece of a barrel by a cap installing means with a device of simple configuration. SOLUTION: A cap removing device 1 comprises a cap installing means 10 for installing a cap 62 to a mouthpiece 61 of a barrel 60 transferred from its upstream side to its downstream side, and a cap suction means 30 for sucking up from above a cap 62 incompletely installed at the mouthpiece 61 of the barrel 60 at a sucking position A between the cap installing means 10 and a cap presence or non-presence sensing means 20 mounted at a downstream side of the cap installing means 10.
