GENES ASSOCIATED WITH BIOSYNTHESIS OF POLYHYDROXYALKANOATE(PHA) DERIVED FROM ALCALIGENES LATUS

PURPOSE: Genes associated with the biosynthesis of polyhydroxyalkanoate(PHA) derived from Alcaligenes latus are provided, thereby mass-producing polyhydroxyalkanoate and copolymer thereof. CONSTITUTION: Genes associated with the biosynthesis of polyhydroxyalkanoate(PHA) include a polyhydroxyalkanoate synthase gene, a beta-ketothiolase gene and a acetoacetyl-CoA reductase gene derived from Alcaligenes latus and have the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1, wherein the beta-ketothiolase gene has the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 3; and the acetoacetyl-CoA reductase gene has the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 4. The beta-ketothiolase derived from Alcaligenes latus has the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 6. The acetoacetyl-CoA reductase derived from Alcaligenes latus has the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 7. A recombinant expression vector pJC1 contains the genes associated with the biosynthesis of polyhydroxyalkanoate(PHA). A transformant E. coli XL1-Blue/pJC1(KCTC 0398 BP) is transformed with the recombinant expression vector pJC1. The method for producing enzymes associated with the biosynthesis of polyhydroxyalkanoate(PHA) comprises culturing the transformant E. coli XL1-Blue/pJC1(KCTC 0398 BP).
