PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make inspectable the electrical characteristics of a photosensitive drum more accurately in a short time by controlling filters for regulating the quantity of light efficiently and producing sufficient kinds of the quantity of light. SOLUTION: The apparatus for exposing the surface of a photosensitive drum in an equipment for inspecting the electrical characteristics of the photosensitive drum is provided with a light source 20 for radiating light toward the surface of the photosensitive drum, and a plurality of filters 26 for regulating the quantity of irradiating light from the light source 20, where the plurality of filters 26 for regulating the quantity of light having different transmittance of light are arranged in series on the optical path X or irradiating light from the light source 20.
