PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casing structure of a transmission capable of promoting cooling a lubricating oil by giving a heat radiating function to the lid that closes an opening for the output power taking out shaft in the casing of the transmission, which dissipates heat received from the lubricating oil to the exterior of the transmission. SOLUTION: An opening 4 disposed on the sidewall 3 of a casing 2 provided for taking out the drive power from the gear transmission mechanism is closed by a lid 10 when the drive power is not taken out. The heat from the lubricating oil temperature raised cause by stirring motion of rotating transmission gears 8, 9 is transmitted from heat receiving ribs 18 formed on the interior side of the lid 10 that closes the opening 4 disposed on the casing 2 to the radiating ribs 15 formed integrally with the lid 10 in the exterior of the casing 2. The heat is finally dissipated from the ribs 15 to the air. Efficient cooling of the oil prevents the oil from wearing and gears from fatigue at their tooth face. |
