PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a cartridge loading cover from being opened by inadvertent operation in the midst of driving a feeding motor incorporated in a camera. SOLUTION: When photographic film 45 abuts on a detection pin 31 and a detection lever 32 is turned to a film detecting position, a locking arm 34 is engaged with a hook 5b so as to lock the cartridge loading cover 4 at a closing position. In a safety lock mechanism 50, a rotary case 51 is rotated when the feeding motor 47 is driven, and the displacement of an inertial body 52 turned by centrifugal force by the rotation of the case 51 is transmitted to a holding lever 55 through a case cover 53 and a pressing pin 54 so as to turn the lever 55. The lever 55 abuts on the engaging projection 37 of the lever 32 and holds the lever 32 at the film detecting position even when the film 45 is separated from the pin 31, so that the arm 34 continuously locks the cover 4 at the closing position, and the cover 4 is not opened.
