PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording paper conveying mechanism for a printer capable of providing a high grade multicolor recording image having no color drift by adequately conveying the recording paper. SOLUTION: This conveying mechanism comprises a bent holding mechanism 5 for holding the recording paper 3 to be conveyed through a conveyance holding plate 2 in a bent state with respect to the conveyance holding plate 2, and a side end holding mechanism 19 for holding the side end of the recording paper 3.
