PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a high quality lactam from a crude lactam by continuously, effectively and economically removing impurities in an industrial scale. SOLUTION: This method of manufacturingε-caprolactam comprises concurrently pouring (A) melted crudeε-caprolactam and (B) an aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent or (B') a mixed solvent comprising the aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent and a small amount of an organic solvent having a higher polarity than that of the aliphatic hydrocarbon at a temperature lower than the component (A) into a vessel and mixing to crystalline theε-caprolactam and then carrying out a solid-liquid separation.
