PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance accuracy and reliability of stress diagnosis in the stress diagnosis method and stress diagnosis device of a ground anchor. SOLUTION: In a ground anchor 1 provided with an anchor head 8 receiving a tension of a tension cable 9 and pressing a structure 2 at the upper end of a tendon 5 anchored in the ground at the lower end side, an ultrasonic sensor 13 is disposed in a specified position of the anchor head 8 and propagation time of the incident ultra sonic wave into the anchor head 8 is measured and then, a stress acting on the anchor head 8 or the tension cable 9 is diagnosed.
